Vitebsk plant «Vistan» completed the modernization of a German machine for BelAZ
According to the director of the enterprise, Dmitry Novatsky, purchasing a new machine would have cost the leading manufacturer of quarry dump trucks about $1 million, while modernization is many times cheaper. The equipment has been restored to factory parameters and equipped with a CNC system.
Igor Spiridonov, a fitter for mechanical assembly work, was one of the last to participate in fine-tuning the equipment. At one time, he graduated from Vitebsk Vocational School No. 96, worked at "Monolit", "Evistor", "Vitba", and also has the specialties of a setter and repairman. Recently, he worked for a private company, earning 1.5 thousand rubles. He came to "Vistan" six months ago. Here he receives slightly less, but it is stable and without delays. Igor is also satisfied with the management's attitude towards employees. In general, he always goes to work in a good mood.
According to Dmitry Novatsky, in addition to BelAZ, new machines are being modernized and built for MAZ, MTZ, Gomselmash, Mogilevliftmash, and other Belarusian enterprises. Vistan's milling, turning, grinding, and drilling machines are exported to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Bulgaria. The order portfolio is confirmed by contracts and advance payments until April 2022. It is planned that this year products worth 8.4 million rubles will be produced (growth rate compared to 2020 is about 140%), and exports will amount to $1.9 million, which is almost double the figure of last year.
The only problem is the shortage of personnel. "Vistan" needs fitters for mechanical assembly work, turners, and millers. The enterprise is working with the main department for education of the regional executive committee and the employment center to organize personnel retraining courses. Decent wages are guaranteed for conscientious and responsible people.
