The Vitebsk regional territorial fund of state property "Vitebskoblimushchestvo" has sold 18 real estate objects on 7 land plots for Br540.3 million since the beginning of the year, the head of the auctions and competitions department of "Vitebskoblimushchestvo" Larisa Shcheglova told a BELTA correspondent. According to her, the conducted auctions showed that investor interest in acquiring real estate has not decreased this year. For example, at the auction on June 12, a former restaurant in Lepel was sold at 1.38 times the starting price for Br32.8 million. The buyer intends to organize a family and children's entertainment center here. At the same auction, another object in Lepel - the unused building of a former shop - with a starting sale price of Br22.6 million was sold for Br28 million. At the same time, Larisa Shcheglova predicts an increase in successful auctions with the entry into force of Decree No. 232 of May 5, current year "On some issues of conducting auctions (competitions)" and Decree No. 238 of May 7 "On amendments and additions to some decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus on the disposal of state property". The documents come into force on July 7 and August 12, respectively. They are aimed at improving the procedure for conducting auctions, regulating legal issues of state property disposal, and will contribute to the liberalization of economic activity. Thus, since the beginning of the year, two auctions have been declared failed because only one participant's application was submitted for the auction. The implementation of Decree No. 232 will allow selling property in this case with a slight increase in the starting price, by 5%, explained Larisa Shcheglova. -0-
