Vitebskobllen will purchase two new flax fiber production lines in 2011-2012

OJSC "Vitebskobllen" plans to purchase two new technological lines for processing flax straw and producing flax fiber in 2011-2012, the organization informed a BELTA correspondent. The cost of the Belgian equipment with a capacity of about 3 thousand kg per hour will be Br16 billion for each line. The issue of its placement is currently being resolved: the availability of areas at the flax processing plants of the region, their condition and workload are being studied. It is possible that new workshops will have to be built to install this equipment. In addition, "Vitebskobllen" continues to implement a project to organize the production of fuel briquettes from flax shives. An alternative type of fuel will be produced at the Mior, Verkhnedvinsk, Postavy, Orekhovo and Kokhanovo flax processing plants. The necessary equipment has been purchased, and commissioning work is underway. In 2010, 19 flax processing plants in the region produced products worth a total of Br10.7 billion, or 105.3% compared to 2009. The energy saving indicator was minus 12.7%. Br3.4 billion was spent on the purchase of technological equipment for enterprises, and Br44.9 billion was spent on the acquisition of equipment for harvesting and cultivating flax for processing industries and flax-sowing agricultural enterprises. The average number of employees at the region's flax processing plants is about 2.1 thousand people. -0-
