Vitebsk Cadet School celebrated its first anniversary with a grand ceremony and the opening of a football field with a new artificial turf
Speaking at the ceremony on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Vitebsk Cadet School, Vladimir Terentyev said:
– I was fortunate to experience this entire period with your wonderful educational institution. Today, I would like to recall the person who initiated this educational institution – Alexander Nikolaevich Kosinets, who was the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee at that time. It was his decision after he visited the former educational institution located here several times, including with the President of our country, Alexander Lukashenko. Now we are discussing whether it was the right decision. And we come to the conclusion that it was the only correct decision. The best base not only in the Vitebsk region but in the entire country for training and educating future officers for the Republic of Belarus has been created here. Excellent sports halls, a swimming pool, and outdoor sports facilities. There is an excellent dormitory, and another five-story dormitory was built by Decree of the President. Today, the cadet school successfully trains personnel for law enforcement agencies. This is evidenced by facts such as: this year, all graduates who completed 11 grades were admitted to higher education institutions in the country, which is great. The fact that 67% of them were admitted to universities of law enforcement agencies means that everything was created for this purpose. And if someone was admitted to other, civilian universities, you can be sure of them too: they are also patriots of our Motherland. They are the support and hope of our country. I want to note that probably not a single year has passed without the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Emergency Situations, and the heads of other law enforcement agencies visiting the school, not only to familiarize themselves with the material base and provide assistance, but also to meet the cadets and encourage them to enroll in the educational institution of their respective departments. This indicates that perhaps in no other educational institution is career guidance as well developed. And this should be a cause for pride. Each cadet, upon arriving here, makes a conscious choice; they know what they will do next – defend the Motherland.
Vladimir Vladimirovich congratulated the entire staff of teachers and cadets on their first anniversary, wished them health and new successes on the path of self-improvement, and presented honorary diplomas and letters of gratitude from the Regional Executive Committee, as well as honorary diplomas from the Regional Council of Deputies to the best employees of the school.
Over the 10 years, 694 graduates have left the Vitebsk Cadet School. 63% of them entered and graduated from higher education institutions that ensure the national security of the Republic of Belarus. Today, the Cadet School is a modern educational institution with a well-equipped material and technical, and sports base.
– We are the best cadet school in the republic, and we have repeatedly confirmed this title, – said its director Sergey Logvinenko in a conversation with journalists. – I want to thank the staff of the school for their work, for the fact that we are always at the forefront.
