Vitebsk LLC "PO "Energokomplekt" is included in a pilot project for the supply of cable products for production for the Belarusian NPP
It will allow domestic manufacturers to adapt to safety requirements when working with customers at one of Belarus's most important facilities, and in the future, to enter other nuclear power facilities being constructed by Russian nuclear specialists.
The project is being implemented under the patronage of the Belarusian Ministries of Energy and Industry, with JSC "NIAEP" (an enterprise of Rosatom Corporation) acting as the curator from the Russian side, providing informational and methodological support. Its essence is to train manufacturers in the procedure for entering the register of suppliers for the nuclear industry. The project includes conducting expert evaluations of the manufacturer's equipment, preparing documentation for participation in supply tenders, and carrying out a number of other procedures required to obtain a "Permit for Use" – a document certifying the safety of products used at hazardous facilities.
According to the General Director of the enterprise, Andrey Avko, this will allow for a reduction in the time required to prepare for procurement procedures for components of safety classes II and III for the needs of the NPP, and enable Belarusian manufacturers to participate on an equal footing with Russian companies. The terms of the pilot project do not imply the conclusion of supply contracts. However, thanks to its participation, "Energokomplekt" expects to be as prepared as possible by the time of the tender bidding, and the quality of the products manufactured at the enterprise allows for confident competition in the European market.
Incidentally, "Energokomplekt" already supplies cables up to 1 kV to the Belarusian NPP construction site, with the total volume of shipped batches estimated at over 10 billion rubles. This is a product of safety class IV for general construction purposes and is used for laying power grids for the Belarusian nuclear power workers' town and for supplying energy to production facilities involved in the construction site in Ostrovets.
