The Vitebsk branch of the BelCCI held more than 40 foreign economic events in 2010
January 5, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized more than 40 foreign economic events in 2010 with the participation of over 360 enterprises and organizations from all regions of Belarus, the branch informed a BELTA correspondent.
For the first time, the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry acted as the organizer of official business visits of delegations from the Vitebsk region to Leipzig (Germany) and Brescia (Italy), during which presentations of the region's economic opportunities and negotiations on prospects for cooperation between the regions and businesses of the two countries took place. Thus, following the negotiations in Germany, the issue of organizing an exhibition-presentation of German manufacturers in Vitebsk is being worked out. The Vitebsk delegation showed interest in implementing German technologies in the communal infrastructure of the region's cities. Preliminary agreements on cooperation in the tourism sector have been reached with potential partners from Italy. Vitebsk businesses also showed interest in Italian technologies for processing production by-products into energy resources. Heads of enterprises in the region became acquainted with the possibilities of cooperation with Italian partners in modernizing and re-equipping production complexes.
In addition, during the visit to Italy, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Chambers of Commerce of Central European Countries (ACCOA). Thus, a foundation has been created for forming a favorable environment for finding business partners, establishing contacts between Belarusian and Italian enterprises, and expanding economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
In total, the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has over 70 cooperation agreements with foreign partners. This makes it possible to constantly increase the efficiency of the branch's work in assisting enterprises of the Vitebsk region in finding business partners, diversifying product exports, and establishing themselves in new sales markets. Taking these tasks into account, the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry constantly expands the geography of business visits of representatives of Belarusian business. In 2010, the branch organized about 10 such visits to Japan, China, Italy, Brazil, and Germany. Active work was traditionally built with Russian regions, where more than 20 weekend fairs of Belarusian manufacturers were held, and participation of domestic enterprises in Russian regional exhibitions was organized. Such exhibition events are held with invariable success in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Pskov, and Smolensk.
In the Vitebsk region, almost 150 economic entities are members of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of which more than 80% operate in Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. -0-
