Vitebsk enterprise will launch mass production of protective suits for medical workers

OJSC "Trud-Vitebsk" will launch mass production of protective suits for medical personnel starting tomorrow, announced the enterprise's director, Vitaly Starikovich.

The company has previously produced medical clothing among other items, but under current conditions, specialists will begin sewing disposable protective suit sets. The material for them is sourced from Svetlogorsk. "We plan to produce about 3,000 suit sets per day. We will centrally supply the products to 'Medtekhnika' in Vitebsk. They will then distribute them to institutions themselves," noted Vitaly Starikovich.

According to him, the enterprise operates on a single shift, but there is capacity in the workshop to accommodate up to 50 more seamstresses. Ten trainees from the college will join soon.

Recently, local enterprises "Belvest" and "Energokomplekt" ordered almost 11,000 sets of special medical clothing from "Trud-Vitebsk". The companies decided to provide charitable assistance to the staff of the regional clinical infectious diseases hospital, where the suits will be delivered.

"Currently, Vitebsk OJSC 'Znamya Industrializatsii' and KUPP 'Vitebchanka' are also focused on producing various protective equipment. We are all involved in this effort together," added the director.

OJSC "Trud-Vitebsk" was founded in 1991. Its employees create a wide range of garment products. Currently, over 70 people work at the enterprise.
