Vitebsk enterprise "Novmash" plans to certify its QMS and products in the American API system

December 6, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. Joint Belarusian-British closed joint-stock company "Vitebsk Machine-Building Plant Novmash" plans to certify the enterprise's quality management system and manufactured products in the American API certification system, the enterprise director Igor Dvornik told a BELTA correspondent. Certification in the API system confirms the compliance of the enterprise's quality management system and manufactured products with global safety standards and serves as a permit to work on oil and gas wells worldwide, the head explained. Obtaining such a certificate will enable the Vitebsk enterprise to enter the markets of America, Asia, and Africa. Currently, the machine-building plant is undergoing the first stage of certification and intends to obtain the Q1 specification by the end of 2010, which confirms the compliance of the quality management system implemented at the enterprise with the requirements of the API standard, and next year it is planned to obtain API certificates for products manufactured by Novmash. So far, only the Zhlobin Steel Works has such a certificate in Belarus. Resident of FEZ "Vitebsk" CJSC "Vitebsk Machine-Building Plant Novmash" is part of the FID group of companies (Belarus). The Vitebsk enterprise specializes in the production of units and mechanisms for mobile coiled tubing units and other equipment used in oil drilling rigs and oil development. In addition to a wide range of components for the parent enterprise, Novmash produces finished products according to individual orders. For example, in 2010, the enterprise mastered the production of a mobile coiled tubing unit. Such a unit is used for repairing oil and gas wells. It includes a massive mechanized drum on which a flexible steel pipe up to 5 km long and 38 mm in diameter is wound. During oil production, the well is usually clogged with paraffin and other associated elements. A coiled tubing unit allows for efficient well repair with minimal operational and time costs. A pipe is fed into the well, through the inner cavity of which a special solution for cleaning the well is fed, Igor Dvornik explained. In 2011, the enterprise plans to expand its production site, which will allow increasing production volumes mainly due to assembly work and the production of metal structures for the parent enterprise. In addition, Novmash plans to produce up to 4-5 mobile coiled tubing units per year based on the chassis of leading automotive brands. Currently, these issues are being worked out, and the implementation of plans will depend on the market situation. -0-
