Vitebsk trading company fined Br1 billion for selectivity in payments to suppliers

February 24, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A Vitebsk trade enterprise has been brought to administrative responsibility for more than Br1 billion for violating the settlement procedure with suppliers, Viktor Kotikov, head of the inspection department of the Department of Financial Investigations (DFR) of the KGB of the Vitebsk region, told a BELTA correspondent. For several months, the enterprise, having debts of several billion and being on the bank's card file, approached settlements with suppliers of goods selectively. Instead of making settlements in accordance with the order of payments as provided for by law, the joint-stock company developed its own settlement order. At the same time, cash was transferred to the bank's cash desk for subsequent crediting to the accounts of selected suppliers. Based on the results of the inspection conducted by financial police officers, the economic entity was brought to responsibility under Part 1 of Article 12.19 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (making payments in cash in violation of legislative requirements), which provides for sanctions in the form of a fine in the amount of 100% to 200% of the amount of payments made in violation of the law. Previously, the enterprise had already been brought to responsibility for a similar offense. Currently, the economic entity of non-state ownership is in the process of liquidation. In total, in 2008, the DFR of the KGB of the Vitebsk region conducted 77 documentary audits of the financial and economic activities of enterprises and organizations, as a result of which over Br3.6 billion in tax payments and penalties were additionally accrued to the budget. Administrative sanctions totaling almost Br2.5 billion were applied to violators. In addition, 27 officials were brought to administrative responsibility for Br15.8 million. Based on the results of documentary audits, 65 criminal cases were initiated. -0-
