Vitebsk Housing and Communal Services is preparing for the new heating season

— The main four facilities where the majority of the repair and construction department employees are involved are the reconstruction of the "5th Regiment" boiler house, the completion of work on switching the heating supply of residential buildings from departmental boiler houses to the "Severnaya" boiler house on Gagarin Street, the modernization of the heating network at Smolenskaya Street, 1/1, and the optimization of the heating supply scheme for CHPP-52 on 2nd Zarechnaya Street, — informs the head of the production and technical department of "VPKiTS", Sergey Dashkov, on the way to the facility where work is underway.

The sun was beating down mercilessly, and the workers, accustomed to any weather, led by the head of the RSU, Oleg Koreshkov, were working on digging a trench on Gagarin Street. A short meeting before laying the pipeline – and back to work. The site is small, it's difficult for a person to move around, but the excavator operator, Viktor Frolov, skillfully handles the bucket. The remaining soil from the deep trench is thrown out with shovels by the heating network repair fitters, Vyacheslav Tretinnikov and Sergey Galenko; they are assisted by the gas and electric welder, Alexander Kutkin. When the pipe welding begins, the fitters will come to Alexander's aid.

— About 150 meters of pre-insulated pipe need to be laid from house No. 1 on Gagarin Street to the tie-in point with the main heating network. And along the way, there's a fence, then a sharp turn, — explains Oleg Alexandrovich. — Not much is left to put an end to the work that has been ongoing for several years to switch the heating supply of residential buildings, which are fed from boiler houses belonging to the enterprises "ZI", "Krasny Oktyabr", and the instrument-making plant, to the "Severnaya" boiler house (it is on the balance of Vitebsk heating networks).

It goes without saying how important this facility is. Laying these 150 meters fundamentally changes the living conditions of the residents of house No. 1, who very recently experienced inconvenience due to the lack of hot water supply. Now there will be hot water.

Sergey Dashkov emphasized that all major work to prepare for the winter period is carried out by the enterprise's employees on their own, without involving contracting organizations.

— Moreover, this year we decided to save money by optimizing the heat supply scheme, for example, the central heating unit No. 52 on 2nd Zarechnaya Street. Previously, four pipes went from the CHU to two residential buildings: heating and hot water supply. This season, we decided to install individual water heaters in each house, eliminating the CHU and, accordingly, the hot water supply pipeline. This will save heat loss in the networks, and eliminate the need for repair and maintenance of the pipes themselves. Double benefit.

On Titov Street, we saw how the reconstruction of the "5th Regiment" boiler house is being carried out. Here, a know-how is being introduced into production – heat recovery units that will allow "taking" heat from the exhaust gases in the chimneys and directing it to the heat supply of residential buildings. The implementation of advanced technologies will save approximately 425 tons of standard fuel per year, which in monetary terms will amount to 1.8 billion rubles (before denomination). The reconstruction of the boiler house is being carried out on a large scale, the facility looks impressive. 14 people are working here. The boiler house will be commissioned on a turnkey basis by the heating season.
