Vitebsk region will require about 300 tourism managers and almost 600 logistics specialists in the next 5 years

January 5, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo – BELTA/. The Vitebsk region will require about 300 tourism managers and almost 600 transport logistics specialists in the next five years. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by Gennady Grebnev, Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Thus, according to preliminary estimates, to achieve the planned growth of tourism services in 2010-2015, in addition to tourism managers, the region needs labor resources for the development of hotel services and roadside service facilities. For example, one roadside service facility requires 5 to 10 employees. It is also necessary to organize training and retraining of personnel for agroecotourism, translators, tour guides, and museum specialists. Effective development of transport and logistics services is possible with specialists not only for organizing wholesale trade in new transport and logistics centers but also for trained personnel in other related specialties. In accordance with the concept of the country's transport and logistics system development, the Vitebsk region will need about 200 middle managers, including center directors and department heads, and almost 400 operational level employees – logistics engineers, statistical analysts – in the next five years. As Gennady Grebnev noted, the prospective demand for personnel is determined by the priorities of the socio-economic complex development of the region. The tasks for the next five years include the transition to an innovative development path, modernization and re-equipment of the economy and social sphere, and the introduction of low-waste and zero-waste technologies. According to forecasts, the total demand for personnel in 2015 will increase by 3.9% compared to the 2008 level and will amount to more than 588 thousand people. To implement the state personnel policy in the region, the regional comprehensive program "Personnel 2009-2015" has been developed and approved by the deputies of the regional council. -0-
