Витебскую таможню возглавил Павел Лобачев
The Vitebsk Customs has been headed by the former head of the main department for combating smuggling and post-customs control of the State Customs Committee, Pavel Lobachev.

Pavel Lobachev graduated from the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the Institute of National Security of the Republic of Belarus. He began his career at the Mogilev Customs, where he rose from customs post inspector to deputy head. After that, he served in the State Customs Committee. He was awarded medals "For Impeccable Service" of the III degree and "For Labor Merits".

The new head was introduced to the staff of the Vitebsk Customs by the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Yuri Senko. He emphasized that customs authorities are one of the key elements of the state's economic security.

— The transit attractiveness of the Vitebsk region is growing, — said Yuri Alekseevich. — According to the results of the 9-month period, the number of registered declarations increased by 19.3% compared to the same period in 2017. The time for goods clearance is decreasing: over 79% of goods imported into the EAEU customs territory are cleared in less than 2 hours, and about 70% of exported goods are cleared in up to 5 minutes.

Automation significantly simplifies cargo clearance, ensuring a smooth and efficient process of crossing the state border by individuals and legal entities. At the Polotsk customs clearance point, certain border control functions are being transferred to customs officers, and work is underway to organize the customs clearance process at the Bolbasovo multimodal logistics complex.

— Our efforts ensure timely border crossing, including within the framework of the upcoming II European Games and other international events, — said Pavel Lobachev. — Significant attention is paid to the security of cross-border activities and the protection of the domestic market from substandard goods. Since the beginning of the year, representatives of the customs law enforcement unit have initiated more than 2.1 thousand administrative offense cases and initiated 7 criminal cases.

Pavel Anatolyevich assured the Head of the State Customs Committee that all plans assigned to the Vitebsk customs would be fulfilled.
