Vitebskhlebprom to Ship First Frozen Bread Export Batch to Russia

OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom" will send its first export batch of frozen bread to Russia, reported the chief technologist of the enterprise, Olga Pavlyuchenko.

A supply contract has been concluded. The first batch of goods includes more than 10 types of top-selling bakery products from the Vitebsk enterprise. The shipment of goods will take place in August.

A special production area was equipped for the production of frozen bread, where two freezing chambers with a capacity of up to 3 tons per day and storage chambers were installed. The investment volume for these purposes amounted to Br200 thousand. The technological process of production initially does not differ from the usual one. Differences begin at the baking stage: it is not brought to completion for several minutes.

The underbaked bread is placed in freezing chambers, where it undergoes shock freezing at a temperature of minus 35 degrees. Packaging is carried out at a temperature from zero to minus 5 degrees, and storage is carried out at minus 18 degrees. The shelf life of the finished frozen product under these conditions is several months, depending on the composition and weight, and after re-baking, it corresponds to the usual established standards.

Frozen bread must also be transported under specific conditions at sub-zero temperatures. The development of this product is primarily focused on export. At the same time, the shelf life allows for seeking business partners not only in Russia but also in distant countries. Currently, OJSC specialists are exploring the possibilities of supplying frozen bread to the Central Asian countries and Israel.

In January-June, the enterprises of OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom" produced products worth Br38.3 million, with a growth rate of 106.5% compared to the same period last year. Sales profitability is 9.2%. Export supplies are carried out to Russia. This country accounts for about 10% of the total volume of products manufactured. Over the past period, bakery products worth $1.1 million have been shipped to Russia (growth rate - 136%). OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom" unites 2 bread factories and 2 bakeries in Vitebsk,

The branches include 11 bakeries. The company also includes the SPP "Prozhektor" and a network of branded stores. The range of products manufactured includes a wide list of bakery, confectionery, rusks and bagels, and pastry products, extruded bread and non-alcoholic beverages.
