Vladimir Andreichenko and Alexander Subbotin met with agricultural workers of JSC "Kushliki" of Polotsk district

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko and Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin visited the fields of OAO "Kushliki" in the Polotsk region, inquiring about the progress of harvesting and fodder procurement.

In the farm, as its director Fyodor Zavadsky explained, 60% of the areas have already been harvested, and they plan to finish harvesting the remaining grain by August 25. Today, four harvesters were working in the field harvesting oats, two of which were allocated to the farm by the regional leadership. One of them was given to the farm by Vladimir Andreichenko himself, who once headed the northern region. The harvesting equipment has been in operation for 21 years. Another harvester, which appeared in the farm in June of this year under the chairmanship of the regional executive committee chairman Alexander Subbotin, was entrusted to the young machine operator Yuri Panchenko. After the army, he worked as a combine operator's assistant for eight years and has been performing solo on harvesting for two years. He is very pleased with the new equipment, as well as with the friendly team, where everyone supports each other.

Nikolay Baratynsky, Deputy Chairman - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, spoke about the progress of the harvesting campaign in the district. "In Polotsk region, 70% of winter and spring grain crops have already been harvested, and the harvest is proceeding according to plan. Now, the district's agrarians are focused on laying the groundwork for future harvests. Winter rapeseed sowing is underway at an active pace and will be completed within one to two days, after which we will proceed to sowing winter grain crops. All work is being carried out in compliance with the technological regulations. The prolonged drought has significantly hampered our work, and the district is paying great attention to fodder procurement. Farms in Polotsk region have procured 11 feed units per conventional head of cattle. Part of this includes grain crops written off on an area of 5,000 hectares, which have been converted into the fodder fund. Work on fodder is ongoing, and this is currently one of the important aspects of work in the agro-industrial complex of our district," said Nikolay Baratynsky.

Vladimir Andreichenko urged the agrarians of OAO "Kushliki" and the Polotsk district as a whole to work diligently and noted that the harvest must be completed by August 25. The Chairman of the House of Representatives added that there is a lag in fodder procurement in the Vitebsk region, which needs to be caught up by collecting the remaining straw in the fields, starting the corn harvest, and ensiling it for cattle feed. He emphasized that this will allow the region's farms to expand their fodder base and increase milk production. -0-
