Vladimir Andreichenko: sowing rates need to be significantly accelerated

Agrarians should radically accelerate sowing rates to complete sowing within 10-12 days, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko told journalists today in the Tolochin district.

"In such weather conditions, when it is windy and the temperature is high, which dries out the soil, sowing dates are of great importance. Now it is necessary to radically accelerate sowing rates to sow grain crops within 10-12 days. And then we can count on a good harvest. I believe that the personnel are ready for this and the task will be completed," said Vladimir Andreichenko.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives was on a working trip to the Vitebsk region today, where issues of organizing and conducting spring sowing were discussed. "In general, in the region and the Tolochin district, the equipment for sowing is prepared, seeds are available in full, there are personnel, people's mood is truly spring-like, a working mood is felt. There are minor issues with fuel - there is not enough of it for sowing, but approaches have been determined, I think this problem will be solved. The main problem is the shortage of mineral fertilizers. This is characteristic of the entire republic. Everything will depend on the competence of the personnel. In this situation, the agronomic service must work very seriously, specialists should return to soil maps, cartograms, and determine the presence of nutrients in the soil on different fields," noted Vladimir Andreichenko. It is necessary to strictly follow the technology and apply fertilizers not massively, but purposefully on each field (phosphorus somewhere, potassium somewhere, etc.).

"Perhaps, we should focus more on the production of leguminous crops, which leave nitrogen in the soil. This should also be taken into account," the speaker concluded. The Chairman of the House of Representatives visited RUP "Tolochin Cannery", where Vladimir Andreichenko was informed about the modernization of potato, fruit, and vegetable storage facilities. With the participation of the speaker, a new workshop of the enterprise for the production of juices without added water and sugar was solemnly opened.
