Vladimir Andreichenko: Vitebsk region has worthily passed the test in the harvesting campaign

The harvesting campaign is a real test of the farmers' work, and the Vitebsk region has passed this exam with flying colors. This opinion was shared with journalists at the regional festival-fair "Dazhynki-2022" in Glubokoye by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Vladimir Andreichenko.

This year, the Vitebsk region has harvested 1.1 million tons of grain, which is a record for the northern region. Food security in the current conditions of a world divided into opposing sides is one of the strong pillars of the state. And the work of farmers in such a difficult environment has special significance.

"I want to say that, in principle, there is no easy work in any year. The harvesting campaign is a serious exam for agrarians, especially for the northern region of our republic. It is a real assessment of the professional suitability of the work of managers, specialists, and teams in the agricultural sector. And the Vitebsk region passed this exam with dignity, harvesting more than 1 million tons of grain. This figure was considered decent even in the Soviet Union, when there was an abundance of mineral fertilizers and protective agents. Now, thanks primarily to the attention that the President of Belarus pays to agriculture, and to the new equipment produced in our republic, such a result has been achieved. This is important in a situation where many countries are already concerned about food shortages today. Our country feeds itself, and this is the basis and a fundamental indicator on which the development of animal husbandry depends," emphasized Vladimir Andreichenko.
