Vladimir Babichev: We want all the youth of the Vitebsk region to join the discussion of the draft law on the All-Russian People's Congress

The Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union aims for all youth in the region to actively participate in the discussion of the draft law on the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. This was announced to journalists by Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, at an open dialogue titled "The Power of Law".

He noted that the Youth Union has launched a series of open dialogues called "The Power of Law," where young men and women discuss several key topics. "We are talking about the role of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the national security of the country, and the provisions on civil society. These are relevant issues, as we (the Youth Union. - BELTA's note) participated in the discussion of the Constitution, and these topics were already touched upon on our online platform. We realized that a number of issues raised then definitely need to be brought to life, because truly interesting ideas and proposals come from the youth, and we want the young, growing generation to be on the agenda and aware of such an important event today. After all, when society participates in drafting laws, it means that we are continuing to build a prosperous and independent Belarus together," said the First Secretary of the regional committee.

Open dialogues will be held in every district of the Vitebsk region. "The regional committee sets itself the task of reaching every work collective, every primary organization. To this end, we are involving experienced speakers who are well-informed and can explain the nuances. We aim to involve all the youth of the Vitebsk region in the discussion. Patriotic education, healthcare, education, and the age of youth are always relevant topics at dialogue platforms. This relevance, the scope of issues, and contributed to the fact that Article 32/1 on youth appeared in the updated Constitution, which characterizes us as a specific category with rights and responsibilities," added Vladimir Babichev. "I am confident that open dialogues will become popular."

Today, the discussion platform "The Power of Law" is operating at the V.I. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library. Several generations joined the open dialogue – more than 100 activists of the Youth Union, members of student brigades, pioneers, as well as veterans of the Komsomol movement. The meeting is held on the eve of the 104th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Komsomol. Among the main topics for discussion are the draft Concept of National Security, draft laws on the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, civil society, the activities of political parties, and other public associations.
