The implementation of energy-efficient technologies in construction and housing and communal services will be discussed in Novopolotsk

The first Novopolotsk scientific-practical conference "Improving the energy efficiency of residential buildings and other facilities in their design, construction and operation. Experience and prospects for the use of renewable energy sources" will be held on December 10 in the oil city, the local executive committee reported.

Participants of the event - specialists from the region and Minsk - will exchange information in the field of energy saving, compare the actual effect of energy-saving measures implemented in Novopolotsk with the results of similar measures throughout Belarus, including taking into account global experience. For example, the city's housing and communal services enterprise will present the results of operating energy-efficient houses with apartment-based heat metering in Novopolotsk, and specialists from Polotsk State University will provide examples of conducting energy audits at housing and communal services enterprises. The enterprise "Novopolotskvodokanal" and OJSC "Polotsktransneft "Druzhba" will share their experience in using heat pumps and solar-hydrogen units at their facilities. The chief engineer of IOOO "Vireo Energy" will talk about the practical results of implementing a complex for collecting and utilizing landfill gas at a municipal solid waste landfill.

Based on the results of the conference, a strategy for practical interaction in the discussed area between government bodies, economic entities and scientific institutions for 2016 will be developed, as well as recommendations for improving the efficiency of design, construction and operating organizations in the field of creating energy-efficient housing and using renewable energy sources.
