The implementation of domestic water purification technologies allows for resource saving and export development - SCST

June 12, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The introduction of advanced domestic technologies and technological solutions in the design of water treatment and water supply systems allows for effective solutions to energy and resource conservation, import substitution, and the development of service exports. This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Igor Voytov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST). He took part in a republican seminar on the implementation of modern technologies and equipment, and innovative solutions for the water supply and sewerage system of Belarus, which was held in Vitebsk. In accordance with the State Program for Innovative Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2007-2010, it is necessary to create more than 1 thousand new production facilities and introduce new technologies and production lines. One of the directions for implementing this task is the development of the housing and communal services and water supply and sewerage sector of the country using new technologies and innovative solutions in the design of water supply systems, especially for small settlements and agro-towns. "To address resource conservation and import substitution issues, it is necessary to find optimal schemes both in the design and implementation of modern domestic water treatment technologies, which should ensure maximum effect with minimum costs," noted Igor Voytov. This makes it possible not only to solve the problems of providing the population with quality water but also to save resources, including financial ones. In addition, domestic technologies in the field of water treatment have good export potential. "Ultimately, all this will work for the economy of Belarus, allowing for a more active and effective implementation of state programs for the revival of the village and 'Clean Water'," emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the SCST. The seminar in Vitebsk discussed proposals for transitioning to a comprehensive approach in designing water supply and water treatment systems for settlements, and the need to maintain registers of equipment supplied and produced in the country to ensure the rejection of substandard samples. Design organizations put forward an initiative to harmonize domestic legislation in the field of water treatment with the legislation of the European Union. Representatives of design and expert organizations, housing and communal services enterprises of the country's regions, as well as deputy chairmen of regional agricultural production committees for construction, took part in the event. The seminar was organized by RUP "Glavgosstroyexpertiza" and UP "Polymerkonstruktsiya".-0-
