During the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival, Vitebsk police will be on high alert
By tradition, the festive program of the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" begins two days before its official opening.
On July 7, the summer stage was filled with fans of the work of Alexander Oleshko and Georgy Leps. From the first days of the festival, all police units of Pridvinye switched to an enhanced duty regime. For the duration of the festivities, together with their Vitebsk colleagues, public order will be ensured by officers from special police detachments of the PPSM regiments of the Internal Affairs Directorates of the Brest, Grodno, and Gomel regions, the Minsk City Executive Committee Internal Affairs Directorate, and servicemen of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. To ensure road safety, 50 traffic police inspectors from the region arrived in Vitebsk as part of a consolidated detachment. In addition, to conduct searches at the entrance to the festival venues – the Summer Amphitheater, the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, and on Victory Square, 100 female officers will be on duty alongside men.
Before the first duty, the commander of the consolidated detachment, police lieutenant colonel Sergey Gritsenko, conducted a ceremonial inspection of the officers. The head of the Internal Affairs Directorate, Major General of Militia Viktor Senko, personally briefed the deployed forces at the Summer Amphitheater and urged each person to conscientiously and responsibly fulfill their duties. He emphasized that there are no trifles in security.
For convenience and comfort during search procedures, special tents have been purchased this year, allowing protection from heat and bad weather.
The first chords of the festival have already sounded. Daily, a sufficient number of internal affairs officers and internal troops servicemen are on duty in the festival Vitebsk to maintain public order.
