The XI military-sports game "Zarnitsa" will bring together schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region on May 26-27, the Vitebsk regional committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent. 25 teams representing all regions of the region, with more than 120 teenagers in total, will take part in the event. The teams will compete for the title of the strongest at the base of the Vitebsk aeroclub named after A.K. Gorovets. To do this, they will have to complete an obstacle course, compete in a formation and song contest, and create a combat leaf "Zarnitsa weekdays". The traditions and events of the game will be revealed by the participants in the amateur performance contest "Zarnitsa has gathered us again". The jury members will assess the intellectual potential of the young men and women during the quiz "Pages of the Fatherland's History" on knowledge of the Great Patriotic War, state holidays, and memorable dates of the country. Another anticipated competition, for which the participants will be able to hone their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in advance, will be the medical and sanitary training competition. The final stage of "Zarnitsa" will be a field game, the conditions of which will be announced to the participants immediately before it begins. The winners will be awarded diplomas and prizes on May 27. The event, dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, is designed to promote the patriotic education of youth, as well as the formation of an active life position and moral and volitional qualities of schoolchildren. The game is organized by the regional committee of the BRSM, the regional council of DOSAAF, the departments of education, healthcare, the department for youth affairs, and the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. -0-
