The X military-sports game "Zarnitsa" will bring together schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region on May 27-28, the Vitebsk regional committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent. The tournament will be held at the A.K. Gorovets Vitebsk club. 27 teams, representing all cities and districts of the region, will compete for the title of the strongest. More than 200 people are expected to participate. Over two days, participants will overcome an obstacle course, demonstrate marching skills, create a combat leaf "Zarnitsa Days," and perform a short concert program dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers in the Great Patriotic War. In an intellectual competition, schoolchildren will have to demonstrate their knowledge of state holidays, memorable dates, and key events in the history of Belarus. Team members will have a separate assessment in medical and sanitary training, which will include both theoretical questions and practical tasks. The winners of the game will be determined in individual competitions and contests, as well as in the overall team standings. They will be awarded honorary diplomas and prizes. The event is aimed at the patriotic education of youth by the example of their people's feat in the Great Patriotic War, and is also intended to foster an active life position and moral and volitional qualities in schoolchildren. The organizers of the event are the regional committee of the BRSM, the regional council of DOSAAF, the education department, the department for youth affairs, and the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. -0-
