Personnel policy issues in the Vitebsk region were discussed during A. Kosinets' report to the President of Belarus

October 29, Minsk /BELTA/. Personnel policy issues in the Vitebsk region and coordination in interaction with republican bodies were the focus on October 29 during the report to the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The President confirmed his requirement for careful attention to personnel: "In case of rotation of the head of the region, it is necessary to give the old personnel in the region a chance to adapt to new, higher requirements, but there should be no excesses here."

"I warned you upon appointment about my requirements, especially in the field of personnel policy. There is no surplus of personnel resources in the Vitebsk region," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "People should always be treated humanely. But if a person really does not want to work or cannot, then appropriate decisions must be made," said the head of state. "But the most important thing is not to allow the 'beating' of personnel in the Vitebsk region. One demanded this way, another - in a different way. Therefore, there must be some period when personnel either adapt to high requirements (and requirements must definitely be increased, which is being done in the Vitebsk region), or those who have not adapted to them move to other work or leave civil service and positions altogether."

"If there are any disputes in the Vitebsk region regarding whether the previous governor, Vladimir Andrichenko, was a better leader or if the current one is, I cannot say that everything was ideal under the previous leader. The Vitebsk region is not an easy one, and Vladimir Andrichenko worked to the best of his abilities. But it was not an ideal period for the region's development. Otherwise, we would still be holding onto the old governor. Changes have occurred, a new leader has been appointed. I have known him for many years, and I absolutely trust him," the President emphasized.

At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the existing facts of uncoordinated actions between republican authorities and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The Head of State considers such a situation unacceptable. All leaders must work in accordance with the requirements for interaction between state bodies set at the highest level.

"Of course, the main actor today is the governor. Since he has been appointed, he must be trusted. However, trust but verify. Therefore, I control and will continue to control any decision of the governor until I am convinced that the governor is truly in his place. This is a responsible position. And one must act in the spirit that has been set recently not only by the President but also by life itself." "I ask you to proceed from the requirement that I set for personnel, demanding results. If there are results, it's good, and much can be forgiven, especially in the current difficult conditions. If there are no results, then it will just be talk, and I will have to make a decision: either wait longer, or take some drastic measures. This is a simple formula to proceed from," said the Head of State, addressing this thesis not only to the leadership of the Vitebsk region but also to all management personnel of the country.

Alexander Kosinets reported on the socio-economic development of the region, the situation in agriculture, construction, and the personnel policy being pursued.

The President noted the regional leadership's focus on achieving the tasks set by the Head of State when appointing the new governor of the Vitebsk region 11 months ago.-0-
