Issues of supporting talented youth will be discussed at the II International Forum «Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Vitebsk Region»
To provide real assistance in business development is the comprehensive goal of the II International Forum "Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Vitebsk Region 'From Small to Great'".
This opinion was expressed by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Oleg Matskevich, during a press conference dedicated to the forum, which will be held under the auspices of the Global Entrepreneurship Week on November 17-18 in Vitebsk. It also became known that representatives of small, medium and large businesses, executive and legislative authorities, entrepreneurship support infrastructure, and business associations from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and China will take part in its work. This was reported by the Director of the Regional Marketing Center, Irina Makarenko. She also noted that the focus of this year's forum is the "Young Entrepreneur" festival, within which the results of the "Projects Without Borders" competition will be announced. A total of 31 projects were admitted to participate, and 10 will reach the final. Some ideas, according to I. Makarenko, are striking in scale, for example, one of them proposes the modernization of the airport.
It is precisely the issues of supporting talented youth that will become one of the most important features of the forum – this was expressed with confidence by the Executive Director of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in the Republic of Belarus, head of the company "Vitvar", Alexey Sychev. He shared plans to create a relevant fund in the region, from which funds will be allocated to help young entrepreneurs.
— I would like to propose from next year to develop a concept that will be based on announcing a competition of projects designed for a specific sector of the economy, — said A. Sychev. — There is similar experience in Russia as an example of public-private partnership, when business representatives interested in new creative ideas are involved. A conversation with the head of the region has already taken place, and the possibility of attracting funds from enterprises for these purposes is envisaged.
O. Matskevich supported the idea. In his opinion, a fund to support talented youth should be established under the chairman of the regional executive committee, and as soon as possible, so that it can start operating next year.
