Issues of the Vitebsk region development are being discussed at a meeting with the President

The Head of State is discussing the following issues regarding the Vitebsk region:

  • Harvesting and fodder procurement

"Over a third of the areas have not yet been harvested, grain yields are significantly lower than last year, and fodder procurement is also below last year's level."

  • The performance of the Vitebsk region's agro-industrial complex as a whole

"There are plenty of problems. Livestock and cattle production are declining, there is a shortage of raw materials, and meat processing plants are not fully utilized. Dairy enterprises are operating at 70 percent capacity. Where are the reserves, how do you plan to finish the year?"

  • Preparation for the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

"The upcoming Forum is another platform for new business ideas: from innovative developments to the conclusion of major contracts. We need to report on the developed concept, organizational plans, and our 'special features'. Perhaps it's time to invite partners from other countries to participate?"

  • Creation of a domestic antiviral vaccine at "BelVitunipharm"

"I want to hear about the quality of the Belarusian drug obtained, how effective it is, and within what timeframe we can meet the country's vaccine needs."

  • Creation of a biotechnology cluster in the region

"We should think about more ambitious plans and expanding the product range, so as not to limit ourselves to just one vaccine. As I am informed, there is a promising proposal for the production of anti-cancer drugs for the treatment of blood diseases."
