Police and Ministry of Emergency Situations employees spent 8 hours searching for a mother and her 3-year-old daughter who got lost in the forest, the head of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs, Leonid Mikhailov, told a BELTA correspondent. The police learned about the incident on September 15 at 5:40 PM. A concerned man reported that his wife called him on his mobile phone and said that she and their daughter had gotten lost in the forest. The search began immediately. 25 employees of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs went to the presumed location of the missing persons, joined by 2 Ministry of Emergency Situations crews in vehicles and police officers from the Bogushevsk department of the Senno District Department of Internal Affairs. A total of about 40 people were involved in the search. According to Leonid Mikhailov, communication with the woman was constantly maintained via mobile phone. Ministry of Emergency Situations vehicles sounded their horns. Signal flares were launched to illuminate the area. As a result, at 1:40 AM, the unfortunate mushroom pickers were found in a swamp. The woman and child were taken to the hospital and examined by doctors. The mother and daughter are now at home. -0-
