Eight forage harvesters were handed over to farmers in the Vitebsk region
– I have worked with similar KVK-800 equipment for over ten years, and I have been working at the farm for 27 years. It's hard to surprise me with anything. The new combine is undoubtedly more modern and comfortable, which is pleasing. Less time will have to be spent on repairs and adjustments. I will have to work hard to harvest corn and achieve good results, – said Sergey Gomonov, a machine operator at OJSC "AgroBorovinka" in the Shumilinsky district, after receiving the keys to the new equipment.
His colleague, Igor Galay, a tractor driver at the agricultural enterprise "Chereyshchina" in the Lepelsky district, who is also full of strength and energy to test the new combine, supported him.
– We feel great support from the state, as the renewal of equipment means new opportunities, higher salaries, and an impetus for work, – noted Vasily Tsybulsky, chief engineer of OJSC "Kohanovo-Agro". – Now I can say for sure: the machine operators of our farm will cope with the procurement of succulent feed. With two old forage harvesters and the newly acquired one, which was entrusted to tractor driver Andrey Sheiko, they will cope with the task.
Mikhail Pridybailo, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, while wishing the machine operators fruitful work, emphasized that the combines were purchased with funds from the republican budget to support insolvent farms. For agricultural enterprises to function normally, it is necessary to update 8-10% of the machine and tractor fleet annually, which numbers about 30 thousand units of various equipment in the region, including 502 forage harvesters. Without new agricultural machinery, it is impossible to move forward and comply with technological requirements.
Incidentally, OJSC "Zapadno-Dvinasky MRS" practices the reconstruction of used equipment, which is significantly cheaper than buying new. Since March, 20 units of agricultural machinery have been put into operation in this way. Another five renovated forage harvesters will arrive in the region's farms in the coming days.
For comparison: the cost of an FS-80 forage harvester is 470 thousand rubles, and a restored one is 50-70 thousand rubles.
