Eight batches of ferrous scrap metal were detained over the past weekend in the Vitebsk region, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The illegal cargo was discovered by law enforcement officers during the inspection of vehicles on the roads in the Vitebsk, Senno, Braslav, Tolochin, Glubokoye, Polotsk, and Liozno districts. The total weight of the metal was 12 tons, with a value of about Br6 million. The drivers had no relevant documents for it. The metal has been seized. Administrative protocols have been drawn up against the drivers. Investigations are underway.-0-
