Eight fires occurred in the Vitebsk region in three days due to the burning of dry grass

April 13, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Eight fires in three days occurred in the Vitebsk region due to dry grass burning, the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Marina Fando told a BELTA correspondent. Three fires were recorded in the Lepel district, two in the Beshenkovichi district, and one each in the Verkhnedvinsk, Braslav, and Postavy districts. In the Lepel district, in the village of Matyrino, two sheds burned down due to the burning of dry vegetation; rescuers managed to protect the residential building from the fire. Fortunately, no one has been injured in the fires so far. Marina Fando added that pensioners and summer residents are mainly engaged in the special burning of dry vegetation. The Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations appeals to the residents of the region with a call not to burn dry grass. This harms nature and can lead to the death of people.-0-
