For the first time, the specialized exhibition-fair "Vitebsk Region – for a Healthy Lifestyle" is being held on such a large scale

More than 20 enterprises from the northern region and other areas, about 30 institutions and organizations of the social sphere offered their recipes for health and longevity. The exhibition stands occupied three floors of the Vitebsk Concert Hall, and each participant has something to offer, to share their latest developments.

The solemn opening of the forum, which took place on September 9, was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. Having welcomed the participants, the head of the region walked through the exhibition rows of Pridvinian and other Belarusian manufacturers, familiarized himself with the products and innovations developed specifically for healthy eating and from natural raw materials. For example, he appreciated the whey and juice-based drink from OJSC "Moloko", Vitebsk, the production of which the enterprise mastered this summer.

In addition to the product stands, points of healthcare institutions also aroused interest among exhibition visitors: people did not miss the opportunity to check their health status and receive valuable advice from narrow specialists.

The head of the region, Nikolai Sherstnev, also emphasized the importance of preserving health, both through the efforts of the state, healthcare, education, domestic manufacturers of goods and services, public organizations, and by the population itself.

– Regular physical activity and sports, giving up bad habits, proper nutrition form what we call a healthy lifestyle, – emphasized Nikolai Nikolaevich. – In our country, issues of healthcare development and the organization of full-fledged recreation for people are a priority and are being addressed comprehensively.

In the Vitebsk region, measures are being implemented to create conditions for preserving and strengthening the health of the population, and systematic and targeted work is being carried out to improve the medical care provided, strengthen the material and technical base, and provide healthcare institutions with human resources. Last year, 43 healthcare facilities were commissioned, 21 of which are in rural areas. In 2015, it is planned to complete the work on the therapeutic building No. 1 of the regional infectious diseases hospital and the therapeutic building of the regional children's hospital. Special attention is paid to health and rehabilitation services of sports clubs, tourist, and sanatorium organizations. For physical education and sports, the region has 4,178 stadiums, gyms, swimming pools, ski resorts, and other specialized facilities. An example of social partnership is enterprises whose management purposefully creates the necessary conditions for maintaining a healthy lifestyle for their employees and their families. Such initiatives should become the norm of our lives.

Nikolai Sherstnev noted that the current exhibition-fair "Vitebsk Region – for a Healthy Lifestyle" demonstrates a comprehensive approach to strengthening the health of the population. Moreover, a number of presented projects are aimed at students, focusing on forming the values of an active lifestyle and a responsible attitude towards their physical condition. From a young age, every young person should understand that health is in their own hands, the governor is confident.

Those who have not yet had the opportunity to personally verify the wide range of "healthy" goods and services offered by enterprises and organizations of the Vitebsk region can do so until September 11 – the last day of the exhibition.
