For the first time in the Vitebsk region, an illustration competition on the history of the native land will be held
June 4, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A competition of illustrations on the history of the native region has been announced for the first time in the Vitebsk region, a BELTA correspondent was informed by the regional association for extracurricular work with children and adolescents.
The main goal of the competition is to create a fund of illustrative material on local history, which will be used in educational and cultural and educational activities. Its holding will help leaders of local history clubs and school museums in forming high-quality expositions, guides on the history of the Vitebsk region, and when conducting presentations of local history work. In addition, the creative competition is designed to stimulate students' interest in studying the natural and historical-cultural heritage of their native region, and the artistic comprehension of events in national history.
The competition is held among students and teachers of schools, vocational schools and universities in four nominations. To participate in the nomination "Reconstruction of the lost material heritage of ancestors," it is necessary to submit works depicting religious buildings, estates, rural houses or entire complexes of rural or urban streets at a specific historical time. Works in the nomination "Depiction of a historical event" should reflect battles or other legendary events that took place in the district or city. Two more nominations are dedicated to illustrating episodes from the lives of historical figures and personalities, as well as the labor and daily life of the inhabitants of the Vitebsk region in past centuries. When evaluating the competition works, not only the aesthetic merits of the work will be taken into account, but also the correspondence to historical realities and the originality of the author's idea.
The results of the competition will be known by the end of the current year. The authors of the best works will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes, and will also have the opportunity to participate in plein airs of the regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Artists. In addition, an exhibition of works by the competition participants will be organized, an electronic version of the catalog of works will be prepared, part of which will be immediately transferred to preschool institutions and children's libraries for interior decoration.
The competition is organized by the regional executive committee, Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov, and the Vitebsk branch of the Union of Artists of Belarus. -0-
