All elected representatives in the constituencies of the Vitebsk region led with a significant margin

All elected representatives in the districts of the Vitebsk region led with a significant margin, Dmitry Khoma, Chairman of the Regional Election Commission, informed journalists today.

Elections were held in all 14 districts. Among the elected deputies, five already have parliamentary experience: Vladimir Andreichenko, Vadim Devyatovsky, Alexander Tsetsoho, Natalia Guivik, and Lyudmila Dobrynina. The remaining elected representatives are non-partisan and work in state structures. Many of them were delegates to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly this year. "Each of the candidates won with a significant margin, all received more than 50%. And the minimum gap from the second place was more than 45%. This indicates that people made a conscious choice," noted Dmitry Khoma. At the same time, he emphasized that the information is preliminary until the results are established by the Central Election Commission. By the way, Vladimir Andreichenko received the most votes in the region in his support - 86.8%, while his closest pursuer received 3.1%. "This indicates that Vladimir Pavlovich is known in the Dokshitsy electoral district, and his contribution to the region's development is valued. Therefore, the population made a clear choice in favor of this candidate," concluded Dmitry Khoma. The former governor of the Vitebsk region has been working in the legislative body since 2008 and chaired the House of Representatives of the National Assembly for two convocations - the fourth and fifth.

Among the features of the current election campaign in the Vitebsk region, Dmitry Khoma noted the high competition for a deputy seat - on average, it was 4.6 people per seat. In his opinion, this made the electoral race more interesting and attracted even more voters interested in a particular candidate. "Voter turnout at 80% is very high and characterizes the activity of our population. Especially in rural areas. The largest number of voters came to the polling stations in the Dokshitsy district No. 22 - 88.55%, Gorodok district No. 21 - 87.42%, Lepel district No. 23 - 86.84%, Vitebsk-Zheleznodorozhny district No. 19 - 87.13%. Specifically, regarding districts, the highest turnout was demonstrated by voters in Dokshitsy (95.72%),

Liozno (95.24%) and Rossony (91.51%)," the head of the regional election commission cited the figures.

Final meetings of district commissions are being held these days, and proxies of candidates will have two days to appeal their decisions. And on Thursday morning, the regional commission will sum up its results, and on Friday - the Central Election Commission. "As of now, no appeals from citizens have been received by the regional election commission. This indicates that the elections in our region have proceeded calmly, all voters had equal rights, and candidates had equal opportunities to prove themselves and be elected," Dmitry Khoma concluded.
