All non-privatized residential premises after July 1, 2016, will be reclassified as rental or social housing.
Not long ago, there were queues of people wishing to privatize housing near the "one-stop shop" department of the city executive committee. Today, there is no rush, and this is a good opportunity for those who have not yet managed to privatize their apartment to formalize the dwelling in their ownership.

Today, there is no rush, and this is a good opportunity for those who have not yet managed to privatize their apartment to formalize the dwelling in their ownership.
Oleg Zhirnel, Deputy Head of the Housing Policy Department of the city executive committee, reminds that Decree No. 563 "On Certain Issues of Legal Regulation of Housing Relations" defines the final deadlines for the privatization of the state housing stock: after July 1, 2016, all non-privatized dwellings will be reclassified as rental or social housing. This means that residents who have not exercised their right to privatization will have to pay money for the use of housing.
Everyone who still needs to privatize an apartment should remember that the cost of formalizing ownership of housing directly depends on the index of changes in the cost of construction and installation works, which is applied in its calculation. Moreover, the index increases monthly, and the later you apply for privatization, the higher the cost of the privatized apartment will be.
To apply for a state-owned apartment, the tenant and all registered adult family members must present their passports (birth certificates are required for minors), documents confirming eligibility for benefits, and payment receipts from "Zhilyo" (if applicable) at the resident services department operating on a "one-stop shop" application basis at the Vitebsk City Executive Committee (Lenin Street, 32, office No. 100).
