All districts of the Vitebsk region have joined the winter rapeseed harvest, Sergey Dogel, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. As of July 17, 10% of the region's rapeseed fields have been harvested, with a yield of 16.3 centners per hectare, totaling 8.8 thousand tons. The leaders in rapeseed harvesting are Postavy (27.3% of fields harvested), Ushachi (23%), Lepel (20%), and Dokshytsy (19%) districts. Mass harvesting of grain crops in the Vitebsk region is planned to start on July 20. By this time, the machinery fleet for the harvest should be debugged and prepared, Sergey Dogel noted, adding that the equipment is ready and its trial run on grain crops has already begun, with 56 hectares harvested. The second cutting of grasses is progressing at a rapid pace in the region. To date, 25% of grassland areas have been mowed. 14.33 centners of fodder units per conventional head of cattle have been prepared, which is 70% of the target.
