All conditions for training top-class athletes have been created at the Vitebsk Olympic Reserve School

Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shamko visited the Vitebsk State College of the Olympic Reserve. The Minister familiarized himself with the material and technical base of the educational institution, visited classrooms, a roller ski track with a shooting range, and then met with trainees of the biathlon department and presented the college director Vladimir Mashnyuk with a certificate for 20 thousand rubles.

— It is gratifying that the Vitebsk region, which is a forge of young biathletes, is growing with new sports facilities. I would like to note the support of the chairman of the regional executive committee Nikolai Sherstnev, who, by his own example, attracts citizens to a healthy lifestyle and shows excellent results in kettlebell lifting, — the minister emphasized during his visit to the college.

Young athletes were also greeted by the chairman of the regional biathlon federation Sergey Feoktistov and the head of the department of sports and tourism of the regional executive committee Vasily Zakharevich.

On this day, one of the most prominent trainees of the college, a two-time world junior champion and winner of the IBU Junior Cup, Daria Blashko, transferred one of her first awards, a gold medal from the Junior World Cup, to the museum fund of the educational institution. Daria also answered numerous questions from young trainees of the biathlon department.

— In November, our educational institution will celebrate its 50th anniversary, and we are approaching this date with good performance indicators. We recently finished laying specialized athletics flooring at the stadium, are working on the museum exhibition, and the repair of the weightlifting hall is next. With the money transferred by the minister, we plan to complete the repair of the roller ski track. All this is necessary for the training of high-class athletes, the main staff of national teams and reserves, as well as qualified teachers and specialists in physical culture and sports, — emphasized the college director V. Mashnyuk.
