World Sobriety Day will be celebrated on the Alley of Sobriety in the Gluboksky district
September 24, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The World Sobriety Day will be celebrated at the Alley of Sobriety in the Glubokoye district, the Roman Catholic parish of St. Anne in the village of Mosar, Glubokoye district, told a BELTA correspondent.
This year, the Alley of Sobriety celebrates its fifth anniversary. In 2007, it was founded by the late Father Juozas Bulka together with a group of Alcoholics Anonymous. Since then, it has become a good tradition in Mosar to hold Sobriety Day on the first Saturday of October. This year, on October 6, the parish invites everyone who wishes to pray before the relics of St. Justin for the sobriety of families and youth. Everyone can take part in tidying up the Alley of Sobriety and meet with members of Alcoholics Anonymous groups.
It is worth noting that the fight against drunkenness in Mosar is not a one-time event. Every second Sunday of the month, a prayer for sobriety is held in the church. Since 2008, Mosar has been declared a sobriety zone. A year ago, local authorities held a Sobriety Week in the Glubokoye district. -0-
