The second phase of the "Bremeno-Orsha" SEZ has been commissioned

The second phase of construction has been commissioned at the "Bremno-Orsha" special economic zone.

It includes a second Class A warehouse with an area of 10,000 sq. m. The facility boasts modern warehouse infrastructure and provides optimal conditions for rapid cargo handling.

The progress of the multimodal complex construction was reviewed today by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, during his working trip to the Vitebsk region.

As reported by the SEZ, the construction of a new railway terminal is currently being completed at "Bremno-Orsha". It will handle transit cargo, transship containers from rail to road transport, consolidate cargo, and store containers in an open area.

Previously, as part of the first phase of construction, all necessary logistics infrastructure facilities for the development of cross-border trade were created within the SEZ. The new road terminal, commissioned in February 2019, provides optimal conditions for the rapid handling and movement of 1.8 million tons of cargo per year. The administrative and amenity building of the terminal houses customs, phytosanitary, and veterinary control services, as well as customs brokers, insurance agents, and other logistics-related organizations.

The "Bremno-Orsha" special economic zone is a large-scale investment project integrated into the multimodal logistics and "One Belt - One Road" routes. "Currently, the complex is successfully handling containerized transit cargo in the direction of the People's Republic of China. A branded train departs twice a week, with a transit time of 14 days," emphasized specialists.

In addition, an international trade center is being created within the industrial zone for the sale of manufactured goods. "We have already started designing this facility. Trade in the international trade center will be carried out on the principle of multi-channeling - this is an approach to trade that involves the simultaneous use of all physical (offline) and digital (online) communication channels," the SEZ stated.

An important event for the SEZ this year was the launch of the Russian Federation's identification-based shoe marking system into industrial operation. Upon the launch of the system, more than 60 thousand pairs of shoes were marked.

"This is a new model of information interaction. We have improved our software by integrating it with the State Information System for Marking Goods of the Russian Federation. Now, when ordering marking codes, it will be sufficient for the importer to select our warehouse as the place for marking goods in the system's personal account. This will significantly simplify and speed up the marking process, allow for prompt information exchange in a secure mode, and also optimize the cost of services rendered," the SEZ explained.

Thus, in the near future, one of the largest logistics clusters in the European part of the EAEU will be created on the territory of the FEZ "Bremeno-Orsha" (creation of a dry port, flower, labeling, and pharmaceutical hubs, organization of e-commerce and postal services).
