The second stage of the reconstruction of the Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk will be completed by the jubilee XX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets told reporters today. For its 16th anniversary, the festival received an updated main concert venue, the Summer Amphitheater, with a long-awaited roof over the auditorium. The "Slavianski Bazaar" will celebrate its 20th birthday in 2011, and by that time, the authorities, together with investors, intend to complete the second stage of the reconstruction of the amphitheater's concert complex, which currently includes tennis courts and a cafe. According to Alexander Kosinets, a skating rink or a car racing track may appear on the site of the tennis courts. The concert complex itself will be connected by an underground passage to the "Marko-City" business center, the construction of which is also planned to be completed by the summer of 2011. The Summer Amphitheater concert complex is built in a natural ravine. According to the project authors' idea, this natural landscape can be used to create a children's recreation park, which is not yet available in Vitebsk. -0-
