Street artists will paint "Vitebsk Ornament"

On September 14, the street art festival "Gravitatsiya-2013" will be held in Vitebsk. This year, young street art masters will gather to decorate the gray and vandalized garages on Zhestkovo Street.

As the event organizer Roman Voronov explained, the sketches of future works were agreed with Housing and Communal Services Department No. 25, on whose territory these garages are located. The youth initiative was also supported by the Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.

"Gravitatsiya" will be held for the fourth time. But it consciously remains a local, courtyard event. Previously, artists worked in the courtyard of the city hall, and now they will gather in the courtyard between Moskovsky Prospekt and Pravda Street. This courtyard also wants to be beautiful," says Roman Voronov.

The theme of this year's "Gravitatsiya" will be "Vitebsk Ornament". 12 artists from Vitebsk, Minsk, Gomel, and Brest have expressed their desire to embody it. The street artists will work to musical accompaniment provided by DJs Traffaret (Vitebsk) and Kuznetsove (Smolensk). There will also be dancing at the informal youth festival.
