The introduction of enhanced control over the movement of goods by Belarus is a symmetrical response to the actions of the Russian side - Yu. Zhadobin
June 16, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Belarus's introduction of enhanced control over the movement of goods is a symmetrical response to the actions of the Russian side. This was announced today to journalists by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Yuri Zhadobin, BELTA correspondent reports.
"Belarus is forced to introduce enhanced control over the movement of goods on the main highways connecting our countries in the near future. These steps will be completely analogous to the actions that the Russian side, in the person of the Federal Customs Service bodies, has been practicing for many years," Yuri Zhadobin stated.
He emphasized that these measures are only a symmetrical response to the customs control that is carried out from the Russian side.
According to Yuri Zhadobin, the Belarusian side is forced to note with regret that no changes in the approaches of Russian partners to cooperation have occurred in recent days. "There is a complete lack of a constructive approach aimed at a mutually acceptable solution. Under far-fetched pretexts, damage to our economic security continues to be inflicted," emphasized the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.
He added that these measures will in no way affect the interests of ordinary citizens. "We apologize to citizens for any inconvenience. We believe that this is not our fault," said Yuri Zhadobin. -0-
