ELECTIONS-2015. More than 11.4 thousand people are applying to be included in the district election commissions in the Vitebsk region

11,442 candidates have been nominated in the Vitebsk region to be included in the territorial election commissions for the election of the President of Belarus, as reported by the regional election commission.

Of these, citizens nominated 4,731 people by submitting applications (41.3%), public associations nominated 4,637 people (40.5%), work collectives nominated 1,881 people (16.4%), and political parties nominated 193 people (1.7%).

Among public associations, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus showed the greatest activity (1,805), followed by the Public Association "Belaya Rus" (662), the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans (579), and the Public Association "BRSM" (576). The Belarusian Women's Union, the Belarusian Red Cross Society, the Belarusian Peace Foundation, the Belarusian Officers' Union, the Belarusian Union of Afghan War Veterans, the Vitebsk Public Association "Self-Government and Society," and others also delegated their representatives to the territorial commissions. Among political parties, the Communist Party of Belarus nominated the most representatives (81 people). The Belarusian Left Party "A Just World" (38 people), the Republican Party of Labour and Justice (32), the United Civic Party (22), and the BPF Party (18) actively participated in the formation of territorial commissions.

Today, work on forming the personal composition of the territorial election commissions is being completed in the region. 848 polling stations have been established in the region, and the same number of commissions will be formed.
