Three groups of long-term observers from the OSCE/ODIHR are monitoring the presidential election in the Vitebsk region. This was announced by Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, at a coordination meeting on ensuring legality and public safety in the region during the presidential election campaign.

"There are 3 observer groups from the OSCE working in the region. They have already visited Postavy, Glubokoye, and Liozno district, and today they are visiting Dubrovno and Verkhnedvinsk district. No remarks or claims regarding the organization of the territorial commissions' work have been received from them," said Vladimir Terentyev.

He also noted the high activity of national observers accredited in the Vitebsk region – as of September 7, 684 people were registered in the region. "Everyone is working, there are no remarks," stated the deputy chairman of the regional executive committee.

Assessing the past stages of the responsible political campaign in the region, he emphasized that the formation of precinct commissions was organized and democratic. "The entire spectrum of political forces is represented in the precinct commissions. There were practically no complaints about the actions of state authorities during the formation of territorial commissions, only isolated cases," noted Vladimir Terentyev.

There were no problems in the region during the stage of collecting signatures for presidential candidates either. "All initiative groups were provided with broad opportunities. There are no questions regarding the process of collecting signatures and their authenticity," said Vladimir Terentyev.
