Elections to the local Councils of Deputies of the Republic of Belarus of the twenty-seventh convocation

Elections to the local Councils of Deputies of Belarus of the twenty-seventh convocation are scheduled for March 23, 2014. As reported by the press service of the President of Belarus, corresponding decree No. 557 was signed by Alexander Lukashenko on December 16.

The date is determined taking into account the deadlines established by law for the formation of territorial election commissions, the preparation and conduct of other electoral actions in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution of Belarus and the Electoral Code of Belarus.

The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Republic of Belarus is instructed, in accordance with its powers, to organize the elections to the local Councils of Deputies and to exercise control over the implementation of election legislation.

State bodies and other state organizations must ensure the fulfillment within the deadlines established by the Electoral Code of Belarus of the organizational measures within their competence for the preparation and conduct of elections to the local Councils of Deputies.

Financing of the election campaign will be carried out from the republican budget.
