The nomination of representatives to district election commissions for the parliamentary elections will take place until August 30

Documents for the nomination of representatives to the constituencies' election commissions for the elections of deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation can be submitted until August 30. This was announced today on the air of the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Lidiya Yarmoshyna.

"Documents for nomination to the constituencies' election commissions can be submitted until August 30 inclusive. Therefore, the work is now for political parties and public associations, labor collectives - it is they who nominate candidates for the constituencies' election commissions. Since we have 110 electoral districts, there are 110 constituencies' election commissions. And in each region, there are territorial election commissions - regional and the Minsk city one," said Lidiya Yarmoshyna.

According to her, many public associations and political parties have already scheduled meetings of their governing bodies to nominate a representative. "I know that this Saturday, the governing body of the association 'Belaya Rus' will convene. Next week, the 'Belarusian Women's Union' will meet. I think many political parties will also take advantage of this," noted the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission. Lidiya Yarmoshyna emphasized that the constituencies' election commissions for the elections of deputies of the House of Representatives will be formed by September 2 inclusive. After that, contenders for seats in parliament will be able to start submitting documents (first of all, on the registration of initiative groups for collecting voters' signatures for nomination).
