A mobile reception for labor law issues will be held on August 21 in Postavy
August 17, Minsk /BELTA/. An outreach reception for citizens on labor and occupational safety legislation will be held on August 21 in Postavy (Vitebsk region), the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus informed a BELTA correspondent.
Citizens from both urban and rural areas will be able to receive consultations from specialists of the Department of State Labor Inspectorate, Labor and Wages Departments, and Occupational Safety. During the outreach reception, specialists provide free legal assistance and consult employees and employers on labor and occupational safety legislation. Citizens will be able to get answers to many questions, including issues related to the contract system of employment, salary payment deadlines, labor and social leave, hiring and dismissal, occupational safety, remuneration, pension provision, and provision of targeted social assistance. Participants of the outreach reception assist in resolving conflict and problematic situations at work.
The joint initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the editorial office of the newspaper "Respublika," and the National State Television and Radio Company was launched in March 2007. The outreach reception is organized primarily in those districts from which the largest number of citizens' appeals are received due to violations of their labor rights.
As the analysis of the structure of visitors to the outreach reception and the range of citizens' appeals shows, every third person is concerned about remuneration issues, and every fifth person is concerned about dismissal from work. About 11% of appeals are related to untimely salary payments. Approximately 95-97% of citizens' appeals are resolved directly during the reception.
This form of work has proven its demand: since March 2007, over 1,000 people have visited specialists for consultations. This year, these events have already taken place in January in Shchuchin (Grodno region), in February in Orsha (Vitebsk region), in March in Gorki (Mogilev region), in April in Petrikov (Gomel region), in May in Nesvizh (Minsk region), in June in Pruzhany (Brest region), and in July in Ostrovets (Grodno region). -0-
