The off-site meeting of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic is taking place in Ushachi

A clear system for working with citizens' appeals has been established in Belarus. This opinion was expressed today by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, at an offsite extended meeting of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic, dedicated to summarizing the results of the unified day of offsite receptions of citizens in the Vitebsk region.

According to her, no country in the world can compare with Belarus in this work. Direct telephone lines, personal receptions of citizens, information meetings in work collectives, dialogue platforms, public reception offices – many different forms are used in working with people. However, its relevance does not diminish over time:

- The President of our country, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko, takes these issues very seriously. We are endowed with special powers in this area and must always hear people. There should be no formalism or indifference in this activity.

At the same time, Natalya Kochanova drew attention to the fact that at the local level, for a number of reasons, the established system does not bring the desired effect:

- Therefore, at the local level, we must actively engage in this work. Our task is to get to all the problems, even if they seem insignificant. After all, they are important to our people. We need to go all the way to help everyone. These issues must be taken very seriously.

The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic noted that about 1 million citizens appeal to various government bodies annually. About 4 thousand appeals were received by the Council of the Republic in the first half of the year. "This indicates the trust of citizens. This is good. But at the same time, it also means that these issues greatly concern the applicants," she emphasized.

The activity of the population prompted the search for new forms and methods in this work. Thus, a new algorithm was developed – a unified day of offsite receptions of citizens. It was first tested in the Minsk region. The Vitebsk region became the second. Senators worked on July 22 in 13 districts of the northern region. The next such review is planned in Minsk. "This form of work allows us to crystallize the most pressing issues for our citizens," emphasized Natalya Kochanova.

Touching upon the results for the VVitebsk region, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic emphasized that much has been done in the region, however, there are issues that require attention. Another important point concerns issues that should be resolved by local authorities. The largest number of them were received yesterday:

- Wherever a person turns, almost all issues can be resolved locally. Yes, there are global ones, but there are not many of them. Yesterday's reception showed that local authorities can help people at their level.

As an example, Natalya Kochanova cited the following figure: 30% of the applications from citizens who signed up for the reception were resolved before the reception began. And this once again proves that local authorities should pay more attention to people's issues, delve deeply into the essence of the issues raised, even if they concern republican authorities.

Natalya Kochanova byhighlighted the responsibility of government officials, senators, and deputies for the work carried out with citizens' appeals:

- Formalism must not be allowed, as it concerns trust in the authorities, fair treatment of people, which the President always demands.
