The demographic security program is the most important of the programs, and the work of local authorities should be assessed by its implementation, the governor is convinced. The emphasis in its implementation is on healthcare, but it concerns everyone: the agro-industrial complex, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, education, industry, district leaders, enterprises, deputies, Alexander Kosinets stressed. He criticized the activities of educational institutions in promoting a healthy lifestyle. According to surveys, every second university student smokes, every third does not shy away from alcohol. The "Clean Water" program is not fully implemented by the housing and communal services department. The deficit of funds for its implementation is about Br50 billion. The material and technical support of medical institutions lags behind the demands of the time, and industrial sanitation is not at the proper level. Another acute problem of the region is the outflow of the population outside the region. In 2009, the migration balance was minus 468 people. Most residents leave Gorodok, Orsha, Miory and Sharkovshchina districts. In 2009, the region had the highest mortality rate in the republic - 16.2 per mille, in January 2010 this figure was 17.9. The infant mortality rate increased, which in January of this year was 5.8 per mille. For 2009, the natural population decline in the region amounted to minus 7365 people, and for January 2010 - minus 800 people. -0-
