The revenue of the Braslavryba plant has increased by 24% since the beginning of the year
According to her, the enterprise operates stably even in the current difficult situation. "For the nine months of this year, we produced more than 2,170 tons of canned fish. We have been set a target for the growth rate of industrial production of 101%, and we are meeting it. In monetary terms, we have a growth rate of 124.4%. We are also stable in terms of revenue - it has increased by 24% compared to last year's level. We are operating profitably, with a profitability of sales of 9.9%. The share of innovative products in the total volume of shipped goods is 5.3%. The production capacities of the plant are currently loaded at 83%. There are reserves for growth, everything depends on the sales markets - an issue that is also being worked on," the specialist noted.
One of the largest fish processing plants in the country is also finding new sales markets in Belarus. This market is the main one for the enterprise. "We also work with the Asian market. Last year, we exported 379 tons of canned fish worth $511 thousand. This year, export supplies have decreased slightly. This is due to the fact that in the first half of this year, possible supplies were economically unjustified, i.e., unprofitable. About 80% of exports go to Kazakhstan. Last year, our enterprise also supplied its products to the markets of Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia. In addition, the domestic market has become more active, and our growth rates are good: 102.4% (sales of products in tons), 132.2% in monetary terms," added Zhanna Yarotskaya.
The enterprise also addresses raw material supply issues. "Sprat and herring are our main products, but we also use local, Belarusian raw materials. We work with various fish farms and national parks for products like carp, silver carp, and bream. We produce goods from this raw material," added the lead economist. "Recently, there has been a trend of increasing these items, as they are in demand. There are no problems with sprat and herring at this stage. Primarily, Russia supplies us with raw materials, while local sources account for 6.5%."
Every year, "Braslavryba" develops two to three innovative product line items. In 2022, they launched a line of canned fish with various flavors in tomato and oil. Currently, the plant offers nine product line items that are considered innovative.
More than 150 people work at the "Braslavryba" production branch of OJSC "Glubokoye Dairy Canning Plant," with operations organized in two shifts. -0-
