The "Memory of Generations" children's drawing exhibition opened in Vitebsk
June 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The regional exhibition of children's drawings "Memory of Generations", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, has opened in Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent was informed at the Vitebsk Regional Association for Extracurricular Activities, on the basis of which it is held.
The exhibition features 250 drawings of various formats. These are the best works of students selected during previously held regional exhibitions. In their creations, young artists covered both wartime and peacetime. The drawings reflect tank, air, and naval battles, the daily life of soldiers and partisans, the life of the civilian population under blockade, the long-awaited Victory salute, and the return of heroes home. No less interesting and touching are the children's portrayals of the subsequent 65 peaceful years. These include annual Victory Day parades, portraits of veterans and combatants, laying flowers and wreaths at monuments, intergenerational meetings, and much more.
The purpose of the exhibition is to draw schoolchildren's attention to the theme of the Great Patriotic War, to instill in them a sense of patriotism and civic duty. The exhibition is designed to demonstrate the active participation of children in the lives of veterans and their careful attitude towards their history. -0-
