March 3, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The exhibition of French artist Françoise Limousin "Water and Rock" has begun its journey across Belarus from the Marc Chagall Art Center in Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent reports from the opening.
As noted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Belarus, Michel Reneri: "All French people familiar with Belarus sincerely love it. Such exhibitions contribute to the rapprochement and mutual understanding of peoples, therefore, joint projects, not only in culture but also in economy, will be continued."
Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich, on behalf of the Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, thanked the guests for the opportunity to get acquainted with contemporary French art. "This will be the first step towards fruitful cooperation between the Vitebsk region and France," he is confident.
Françoise Limousin called her exhibition in Belarus natural. "Your great Chagall came to my native Catalonia to create and meet friends there. And I came in his footsteps to his hometown, bringing with me all the most friendly feelings towards you," she said with emotion. She painted several landscapes specifically for the exhibition in Belarus.
The main theme of the artist's work is nature. Françoise Limousin paints with watercolors, acrylics, and ink. After Vitebsk, the exhibition will travel to Gomel, and in the autumn it will be showcased in Minsk during the Contemporary Art Week. -0-
